Forza Horizon 5 PC Settings Guide
Forza Horizon 5 is one of the better-optimised PC releases of its era, and its built-in benchmark is reasonably honest — with one caveat. A dry solo lap does not reproduce a wet race with a full grid, which is where reflections, spray and car models all peak at once.
Ray tracing in gameplay is available but costs more than it returns at speed. Keep it for Forzavista if you want it, and spend the frames on a higher resolution or a steadier frame cap instead.
Settings that matter most
- Ray tracing in gameplay: Off. You are moving too fast to appreciate it and it is expensive.
- Car model quality: Matters most on a full grid; medium is barely distinguishable in motion.
- Motion blur: A rare case where some blur genuinely improves the sense of speed at 60 FPS.
