Stardew Valley PC Settings Guide

Simulation

Stardew Valley is one of the lightest games anyone will read a settings guide for. It runs at hundreds of frames per second on integrated graphics, and there is essentially nothing in the options menu that will change your performance in a meaningful way.

The only performance issues players genuinely encounter come from heavily modded saves, where large content packs and expanded farm layouts add CPU and memory load. That is a mod problem, not a hardware one.

Settings that matter most

  • Vertical sync: On, or use a frame cap. Uncapped rendering can produce uneven scrolling.
  • Zoom level: Affects how much of the farm is drawn; irrelevant on modern hardware.
  • Mods: If a save runs poorly, disable content mods one at a time rather than changing settings.

Scope and assumptions

Covers the current build, which is extremely lightweight. Recommendations focus on frame pacing and large modded saves.

  • • Any modern GPU runs this at maximum settings.
  • • Integrated graphics are sufficient at 1080p and 1440p.
  • • Large modded saves add CPU and memory load, not GPU load.

Troubleshooting checks

  • • Enable vertical sync or a frame cap if you notice uneven scrolling.
  • • Slowdowns in heavily modded saves are mod-related, not settings-related.

Your GPU is limiting FPS here

NVIDIA RTX 4060 is holding back your AMD Ryzen 5 7600 at 4K in Stardew Valley. A better GPU could get you closer to ~82 fps at these settings.

Estimate only — based on a 20% uplift for a moderate GPU bottleneck, not a measured benchmark.
