Kingdom Come: Deliverance II uses CryEngine 5 and pushes it hard with detailed medieval cities, complex armor materials, and dynamic crowd simulation. The game scales remarkably well to mid-range hardware but is unforgiving on systems with slow RAM or older 4-core CPUs.

An RTX 4060 or RX 7600 can hold 60 FPS at 1080p High with FSR Quality — but only with at least 16 GB of system RAM and DDR4-3200 or faster. Crowd density and shadow quality are the most expensive settings; drop both one step from Ultra and you'll usually find your target framerate without obvious visual loss.

Scope and assumptions

Covers Kingdom Come: Deliverance II on the current CryEngine build. Towns with high NPC counts are treated as the CPU worst case.

  • • 1080p: High is achievable on mid-range hardware with Quality upscaling in towns.
  • • 1440p: object and foliage draw distance are the most expensive sliders.
  • • 4K: upscaling plus High beats native Medium for image quality.

Troubleshooting checks

  • • Frame drops in Kuttenberg that survive a resolution drop are CPU-bound.
  • • Reduce NPC and object draw distance before touching textures.
